5800 XM Experience...

It has been a week since I bought my 5800 XM last Saturday. I had my mood went up and down for this whole week, happy when people like it, people said it is good, a bit sad when find out any bug/inconvenient setting, extremely worry when anything does not turn up correctly...And here, I would like to share some of my experince.

Firstly, the camera. We all know well that, Sony Erricson K series posses better shooting performance compare to Nokia phones. And yes, even though my 5800XM has Carl Zeiss, the shoots looks only good for close-up pictures. And for the video side,
it works great, I started to capture/record a video when I was walking in an opened area, and then went into basement parking (I forget to switch on the light), and I think it worked better than I expected (after I felt a bit dissapointed from the 3.2 MP camera). And my voice changed in the video as well, sound like monster...

The next item I would like to share is the landscape mode of 5800XM, this is the first phone I own that has landscape mode and hence, I have no idea how was it before 5800XM. After I try on mine, I think it’s a bit sensitive. Let’s say I put my phone on table, unlocked it, opened Option menu, and over 90% chance that the menu will appear in landscape mode, is this normal? Or my table problem?

I also tried on its famous well-performance music player, well, again, I have no idea how it works on other phones, but honestly, I don’t really like it. Most of the time, I listen to my Altec Lansing 4121 or my headset Philips SHP2000, and I like them a lot, perhaps AL4121 is too dim on its output but with the price below RM200, I can hardly find any good opponent for it. And my headset, no complaint, as a headset, I think it is good enough for everything. Now comparing them with 5800XM, I do not really expect it is better than Altec Lansing, but if it was closer to my SHP2000, then I would give it a thumb up…

I was in a very dim mood yesterday, as I failed to get my GPS worked at all, no satellite found, I can’t get my position, the map is not updated, etc…everything has ruined my mood. After done several checks, I found out that it possibly due to my 3G network, and again, I never use 3G ever, and no idea that I need to activate it. Right a few paces after I went out of office, I ring up Maxis to get my 3G activated, and everything works now (but need more testing)!

I bought it for RM 1.3K and one of my friend got it at RM 1.45, in fact, I was very worry that this phone is some kind of water stock, that it might not work properly, and now I finally exhale…

Anyone that has any thought or query, please feel free to let me know :P

My 2nd Handphone

You may not understand, but I do hope you can.

This is my second handphone, the first one was Nokia 6510, released 6 years ago, with GPRS and radio features, mono ringtones, as well as black and white in color.

I collected my new phone (5800 Express Music) yesterday, did some simple tests, mostly on calling (as there are some issues during calling posted by 5800 users online). Paid the balance, and I left the kiosk, exciting, unbelievable and undescribable. Took out my 6510 (My SIM card was put back into 6510 to copy my contacts), called my hometown friend, Sek Hao, who bought the same model with one week ago, and I was told that he was back to Jementah! The one who asked me to call him for lunch after I collected my phone, was running away! Without second thought, I rang up Soo Beng, who will go to Timesquare that day, telling him I join him.

Arrived at Border before 12pm. Bring the phone to the manga corner, I copied all my contacts from 6510 into my SIM card, put it into my new 5800, started it, oh my god, the welcom screen, the hands are so colorful (compared to my 6510 which has black dots only), and the sound, everything seem so wonderful to me. Playing around with the camera, when I saw Soo Beng in the front door, with his friend, Harry.

We went to gasonline for lunch, which was my first time there, and also my first time using WiFi, as well as my first experience to suft net using handphone, I was amazed, and I apologies immediately (in mind) to all those that I called them stupid to use mobile phone for internet browsing, browsing with mobile is just lovely.

After lunch, we went to Sg Wang for shopping, actually I was not really shopping, but convince the other two guys to spent, to balance back my bad emotion on spending over thousand on 5800, even though I glad I got it...I bet I was in my feeling conflict that time. After long shopping time, we went for dinner before I went to Pasar Seni to take E1 to back to Putrajaya, it was before 8.

At around 9.15, the bus finally started, the bus driver took Putrajaya highway, and I was in Putrajaya Sentral at around 9.30. However, the next T429 (heading to CYberjaya) will only depart at 10. Looking at the huge cloud, I knew it was impossible to fit everyone inside, I gave up, earlier before 10. They arragne another bus at 10.30 (using U42), and I managed to get into my room before 11.

It was a tiring day, yet I still stayed awake to install Nokia Suite on my machine.

The next item would be car, I told myself before I was totally fallen asleep.

Online License Renewal

Yesterday, I went back and tried to unlock the door of my house when I found out that my keys were left in my room. Without second thought, I took out my driving license and try anyway I could to "break in". It was then I found out, mt driving license has expired! Since 27th Novenmber 2007! OMG!
Forget the door story which I was able to get in with the help from one of my housemates, and I managed to get into my room with the contribution of my driving license :D.

I started to plan to go JPJ or post office to renew my driving license. Few minutes ago, I tried to dig if there is any way I can do it online, I checked POS Malaysia (http://www.pos.com.my/), nothing much help. Then I went to JPJ website (http://202.190.64.96/v5/index.php?lang=en) and I surprisedly found a link to renew license online!

After fill in the form, which I confuse with my residential category, I chose Penduduk Tetap (Permanent Resident) instead of Orang Awam (Resident of Malaysia), I managed to renew my license with additional RM 5 for hand delivery of the license (would arrive in 5 working days) and RM 2 service charges.

A duplication entry here: payment method, which I have chosen the time when I fill the form.

Next step is filling credit card info. And they are using RHB bank!

It is quite convenient, especially for those who do not own transport or hard to get to post office/JPJ at working hour. And I really hope it really works!

5800 XM

I've been looking for a new mobile phone since my Advanced Diploma, however, I had given up since I was undergraduate and my pocket money was come from my parents, and I didn't think that it was a good idea as the phone at least still functioned, not as terrible as now.

When I joined UM (Universiti Masyarakat), I started to look for my new handphone, but and since I will get a car, I hope to get a phone with GPS function, and most of them are PDAs, which are quite costly. Recently (actually one or two months ago), Seaw Wei reminded me about the new release of Nokia 5800 Express Music. It's cool and with medium-class price (can get at 1.3k for original set), it posses GPS function, and I have checked on its other features and reviews, most of them are positive. And I know, this is what I want!

It was a nice dream, I dreamt that somebody has given me the original set of 5800 XM for my present. Can't really recall present of what but it's just a...sweet dream~

I think I'll get it this two weeks, before I go back to my hometown for CNY.

.:. PS: Please let me know if you guys have any lubang to get it cheap...of course no fraud :D
